Revelation
I was talking to Jun Jie on msn about when we're all going to meet up again... And i just realized something. Im in nz, some of my buddies r in aussie, and a good part of the sesats r going to america.
Wont be seeing jboy and ming, cause thier holidays are different from mine. Thiers in june mine in november. So we thought, aiya wont be seeing you in 3 years time. But is it really just 3 years? Some of us might go and do masters (im considering), or start working in another country.
So what now
Its not 3 years anymore if that happens.
Its going to be a heck lot longer.
At least theres msn, right?
but what abt fustal!?

University of Otago
I know, lousy picture, but i didnt take any pics of the uni so i had to resort to taking it from the universitys website. Its a very nice place to study, despite the drunk people at night and the riots and all that.
For example, the lecture halls are well equipped. Comfortable for 550 students+
oshit, i took pictures of the lecture halls, but i cant find the cable that connects my handphone to my laptop. So no pictures of that either. Just use your imagination. Imagine an orchestrial auditorium, but without a stage, and instead of beautiful music theres an old bald guy talking. Got the picture?
Anyway, the thing that really impressed me is the usage of technology. Details of every paper you take is online. You have a username and a password that you use to log on your account (you can do this as long as you have an internet connection). Everything from past examination papers, to lecture slides and even the recorded audio of that lecture. So if you happen to miss a lecture, just download the audio and slides, and you can sit the lecture at home.
The departments use a webmail system to contact you or the other way around. You can ask questions on the discussion boards online. Even some of the tests are online. So you can open ur textbooks while you do it! They actually encourage you to do that, its called self learning or something. I just got two of my 2nd year friends to help me out.
Ok i know words are boring, so if you managed to read till this point, thanks!

Election Election!
Election! Voting started!! Will things change? Will we give a damn!?
While flying over here, on the thai flight, there was a malaysian businessman sitting beside me. 50 yr old indian guy. Quite friendly, talked with him about lots of things. One of them being the election, and politics. And guess what, he has the same opinion as me. Pretty much a big fat chunk of the non-bumis have more or less the same view i suppose. With the way things are being run. He's so pissed off that he doesnt even care anymore. His family n all that in Bangkok.
So... I wonder what the results will be like. Quite isolated here in NZ, so i'll try my best to follow the news.

My Crib
Yo waddup niggaz, ive finally gotten a connection in my flat, and its about time to post. Lemme show you parts of my crib.

1st off, heres my room. Much bigger than the one i had last year. But not furnished. Meaning i had to buy a chair, cabinet, heater, clotheshangers, etcetc. The previous guy left me a bed, so yeah thats good.
Its a five storey flat, but narrow. This is the staircase outside my room. Im on the 4th floor, my japanese friend stays on the top floor, a nz-born sri lankan lives beside me, a kiwi ang mo on the 3rd floor, and below me are two kiwi-born chinese-jews, all of them good friends from the hostel last year.
Kitchen on the 1st floor. ( im a chef now)

And on the ground floor, there is the lounge. Very fun place, we hang out there most of the time. The lounge has:

A poker set of course (compulsory for us)

A flat screen lcd. Dont know what the heck its doing here, but we're happy that it is =)

And connected to it are some consoles that my friends brought with them. Ps2, Xbox 360, Nintendo gamecube.

Some shots i took from the platform outside the lounge. Quite a nice view.
So yup, thats my place probably for the next 3 years of my course. Its alright. Plenty more updates to come.
